My Hometown

Many may not be familiar with this little town called KUALA KRAI. It is in the middle of Kelantan, one of the most interesting states in the country. If you have never heard of this 'exciting' town, well, I don't blame you. Pay a visit, get acquainted with it and surely you will like it. I'm not bragging. You will be surprise and fall in love at first sight.

Many have been here and some had been here umpteen years, having uprooted their entire families from Johore, Negri Sembilan Wilayah Persekutuan, Penang, you name you have it. This little town is well represented with people all over the country finding, afterall, Kuala Krai is not too bad. Peaceful, serene and its loving people, why not make this place your permanent abode. things are easily available and within walking distance. If you are an exercise freak, there are plenty of nice jogging tracks with its lush greneries, where you can jog your hearts out!

Food is not a problem here and you can never go hungry 24 hours a day. Language should not be a barrier, though bahasa kelate is the official language here. Mandarin is easily understood by all, young and old plus all the dialects spoken in the Chinese world. So you see you shouldn't think anymore but find your way here and enjoy the easily forgottten heaven.

Oh yeah, before I forget. If you love to hear birds singing or rather bird lovers, then you are moving in the right direction. It is terribly lucrative trade. What are doing waiting for?

Respect your parents

Calling all teenagers! Respect your parents and you can never go wrong. In fact God exalts us children to respect our parents that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth (Ephesians 6:3)

Your parents may scold you and may be tough on you. It is all for your own good. You may find it hard to swallow and angry but at the end of the day, they are your parents. Today the world is so chaotic and uncertain. Anything can happen once children are outside. Therefore it is only natural that parents are afraid their children may be in the wrong company or up to something that is no good. All parents love their children and want them to grow up to be useful people, pleasing and loving. Nagging, scolding grumbling and all the unwanted noises can sound terrible but take them in your stride. Treat them as music to the ears and the situation will be all right. If your parents or grandparents nag and nag you, just be cool, smile, talk to them or may be offer them some tea. That will be a refreshing change and it may work.

Remember we will all grow old one day. Could we be worse than the situation now? Could we be nagging even more or grumbling from morning to night? How would your children feel or say? Think about it. Ponder about it

Whatever happens, never, never forget your parents. At the end of the day, they are the ones who will stand by you, forgiving you and forever cherishing you in their souls. When you are far away from home, don't forget to call. Your voice is enough to light up their lives and give them thousands of reasons to smile

Life can be meaningful

Life can be meaningful if we want to. But wait. Let's ponder for a moment. How can that be with all the turmoils and heartaches that continue to surround us. Many had said it is easier said than done. Precisely if we are directionless, moving aimlessly and banging our heads against the wall at every turn. The world seems to be full of evil ready to devour us but at the same time we can help to turn this evil into good if we have that someone in us. That someone is called JESUS. But wait again. You make it seem to be so easy thinking that Jesus can be the answer to the world's problem. Exactly. What do you have to lose? Probably you have tried everything and nothing seems to work. Roadblock here and roadblock there so why not give JESUS a try. He is free for you at no cost. Right it doesn't cost you an arm or a leg. Absolutely nothing. What are you waiting for? Grab the opportunity now.

MCA dark chapter

The sacking of Datuk Dr Chua Soi Lek marked another dark chapter in the history of MCA. Actually the whole episode can be viewed from one angle - the President protecting himself and his cronies. In fact one can smell the dead rat. Why, after 2 years, then only the Disciplinary Council started to act? Is the DC so busy that it has no time to meet or the President just got his inspiration and revelation to act after 2 long years. The case ought to have been thrown out after such a long delay. MCA is doing a great injustice, not only to the party, but to the nation as awhole. What an undemocratic way to hand down judgement without giving the ever sarcastic doctor the chance to defend himself.
Let's look at the whole episode this way. This dark chapter will speed up the early demise of one of the oldest parties in the country. Already, after the March 2008 election, MCA is facing a blank wall with its popularity plunging to an all time low. Maybe now is the time MCA wants to wave goodbye to all it allies and proceeds to seek fortune it knows best. Yes, Dr Chua is not saint and neither is Ong Tee Kiat. Everyone makes mistakes and if the delegates are willing to give him another, who is Ong Tee Kiat and his cronies to play judge, jury and executioner. Remember the President is no better than the sage doctor and vice-versa.
I'm neither a fan of Ong nor a fan of Chua but as a faithful member I wish to see MCA in good hand. What MCA needs now is a good captain who is daring and willing to steer the ship out of the storm

As the H1N1 continues to drag, not knowing when it will end I can only pray that it will not affect the thousands of our beloved students who will be sitting for their UPSR, PMR, SPM and STPM. To all students out there, please take good care of yourself and that you will be in optimum health to sit for your examination. May the good Lord bless you and give you the spiritual and physical strength in this trying time.
Surely nothing is too difficult for God. Thank God that the vaccine is on the well. Pray that it will be readily available and within the reach of all those affected by the virus. As we play our part in taking care of our health, God will play his part in keeping the virus at bay. He is good and never his intention that any should fall victim to the virus. Pray that he will continue to give us his wisdom to help others in times of needs.

Learning English is never easy. Afterall English is not our mother tongue. Let me take myself as an example. I spoke Hokkien as a child and I am still using the dialect, though not as frequent as I used to. I went to an English school, picked up English there and started using it wherever and whenever possible. At the same time I picked up some Mandarin along the way. Ha...sounds quite interesting. No boasting or showing off. So you see it's more of a kind of 'rojak' language as time goes on. However I did not allow my English to rust or rot and I'm proud I did not grow up with only one language. My sister was an English teacher but sad to say we use our mother tongue most of the time. However English was there and is there in our conversation and wherever we go. We do not bury the language and English WILL always be part and parcel of our life.
So there you are. Your attitude towards the language is very important. Never mind the mistakes you had made, are making and will be making. Mistakes are part of our growing up and you can never run away from mistakes. Go ahead with all the broken and chop up English and enjoy it. Believe me, those who are reading and will be reading this, you CAN only improve if you keep on with wharever English you have with you. Let your friends laugh and you laugh with them but at the same time do not stop using English, no matter how broken it may be.
I am from Ulu Kelantan and if an orang ulu can pick up the language, there's no reason you cannot. I hope to see some comment from you. Stop worrying about your English. Start living in the language NOW.

byelection

It looks like by-election is going to be the trend if nothing is being done to check it. Just because somebody disagrees with somebody and in order to prove something, the person simply vacate the seat whether out of anger or whatever it is, only heaven knows. Yes maybe it's high time that such rep needs to be banned for life and a heavy fine imposed as a deterrent to others.
Let's not waste the rakyat money no matter how little it is. By election is truly a waste of money and time and it's not the platform for any individual or party to gauge their popularity. It must be stop immediately unless truly necessary before our country becomes a laughing stock of others. I believe we have many more things to do in this trying time.
